โ€œBro this is actually mad. I recorded my verse on Voice Memo, grabbed a beat off YouTube, uploaded both and had a finished track in like 20 seconds. Used to spend hours trying to do this in GarageBand.โ€

Got questions?

Everything you need to know before your first mix.

An acapella is your voice recording with absolutely no music, beats or background sound behind it. Just your raw voice. If you have recorded yourself rapping or singing without a beat playing in the background, that is your acapella. To get one, record yourself on your phone Voice Memo app, GarageBand, BandLab, FL Studio Mobile, or any recording app. When you are done, export or share the file as an MP3 or WAV. The cleaner and quieter the recording environment, the better your final mix will sound. Avoid recording near fans, traffic, or in echoey rooms if you can.

Any beat file in MP3 or WAV format works with BeatMatch. You can use beats you have bought from a producer online, beats sent to you directly via WhatsApp or email, beats you downloaded from YouTube using an MP3 converter, or beats you made yourself in GarageBand or any DAW. The beat just needs to be a single audio file โ€” not a project file. Files up to 200MB are supported. WAV files give the best quality result but MP3 works perfectly fine for most purposes.

The tempo may shift very slightly to lock in with your vocal tempo but the pitch and musical key of the beat stays completely the same. The technology we use is called time-stretching โ€” it changes speed without changing pitch, the same technology used in professional recording studios and DJ software. Your beat will not sound chipmunk-fast or slow and muddy. If the BPM difference between your vocal and beat is small (under 15 BPM) you will not notice any difference at all.

BeatMatch automatically detects the BPM of both your vocal and your beat and adjusts them to match. This works best when your vocal and beat are within 20 to 30 BPM of each other โ€” which covers the vast majority of real recording scenarios. If they are further apart, the mix may sound slightly stretched or rushed. In that case, open the Advanced Controls panel and manually drag the Beat Speed slider until it sounds natural to your ear. You can remix as many times as you need without using extra tokens until you find the sweet spot.

Most mixes complete in 15 to 30 seconds. The processing time depends on the size of your files and the difference in BPM between your tracks. WAV files take slightly longer than MP3 because they are larger. You will see a progress indicator on screen while your track is being processed โ€” do not close the tab until the download button appears. Once done, your mix is also saved in your Mix History so you can come back and download it any time.

Yes, and this is one of the most powerful features of BeatMatch. After every mix the Advanced Controls panel stays fully open and editable. You can adjust the beat volume up or down, the vocal volume up or down, the beat speed, and the start point of either track. When you are happy with the settings hit the Remix button and a new mix will be generated with your updated settings. Remixing the same uploaded files does not cost a token โ€” only your first mix on a new pair of files uses a token.

A token is a single mix credit. Every time you upload a new pair of files (a beat and an acapella) and hit Mix for the first time, one token is used. After that you can remix the same files as many times as you want with different settings at no extra cost. When you sign up you get 3 free tokens to try the app. You can buy more tokens in bundles at any time from your Account page โ€” they never expire so there is no pressure to use them quickly.

Never. Your tokens sit in your account indefinitely until you choose to use them. There are no monthly deadlines, no use-it-or-lose-it pressure, and no subscription required. Buy a bundle when you need it and use them at your own pace. This is designed for independent artists who might record in bursts โ€” not people who mix every single day.

BeatMatch does not claim any ownership over music you create using our platform. Whatever you upload and whatever comes out is yours. However there is an important distinction โ€” BeatMatch does not grant you rights to the beat itself. If you are using a beat created by someone else, you need to check your licence agreement with that producer before releasing the track commercially on Spotify, Apple Music, or anywhere else. If you bought an exclusive licence or made the beat yourself you are free to release. If you used a free or non-exclusive lease, check what the producer allows.

All finished mixes export as 320kbps MP3 โ€” the highest quality MP3 format available. 320kbps is the standard used by professional releases and is accepted by all streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Audiomack. It is also the format most producers and engineers ask for when you send them a rough mix to work on further.

Yes, your uploaded files and finished mixes are stored securely in your account. This means you can go to your Mix History at any time and re-download any track you have ever made on BeatMatch โ€” even weeks later. Your files are stored on secure cloud storage. We do not listen to, share, sell, or use your music for any purpose other than processing your mix. You can delete your account and all associated files at any time by contacting us.
